As period dramas go, Bridgerton has it all: thousands of highly elaborate costumes; a galaxy of diamond jewelry; and a wedding in Season 1 that had brides to be taking notes. If you've been part of the Bridgerton express and have binge watched the first season on Netflix like the rest of us, today's wedding inspiration in the Dorset countryside in the UK will have you sipping tea with a pinky up.
Bridgerton has been all the rage since it aired on Netflix on Christmas day. Fashion, sex, jealousy, and drama–could it get any better? It’s basically Gossip Girl for the idle set, but in the 19th century, and we couldn’t relate any more, as we’re also spending our day to day to day life constantly in the confines of our homes. And similarly, right now, a simple kiss feels just as perilous during Covid times as it did socially scandalous back then. The show gives us everything we find ourselves craving in 2021: Good clothes, social engagements—and lots of intimate moments.
From the moment the young women in Bridgerton are introduced to London society, to the frivolous courting and finally the wedding, we couldn’t help but be inspired by all of the empire-waisted frocks.
